China Town

A sign advertising Bubble Tea and Noodles in China Town, (corner of St. John's St. & 11th Ave).

I have yet to try Bubble Tea. Have you tried it? Would you recommend it?

Ngoc Van should be on the welcome to the city sign on the Trans-Canada.

Try the #59 rice noodles with beef. Amazing.

N'goc Van is closed July 21 - Aug 11. I think they've gone to Vietnam to visit venerable grandmother like they do every year. It's my favourite place, and miss it when they close. The #59, (Hue Style, or Bon Bo Hue soup) must be ordered 'no feet' or you get a big knuckle in it.
The wor wonton is also a popular item, though I tend more to the #36 (beef sate), and #56, (Thai Style).\

I'm sorry to say but that's not really China town. That's a vietnamese restaurant. Then right beside it, there's a Korean restaurant. There's no China town in Regina. And the one and only Chinese grocery store beside it often sells expired food.

By the way, that Vietnamese restaurant's ad said they sell the "Taiwanese bubble tea." I'm from Taiwan, that's definitely not Taiwanese bubble tea. Oh and it's made with some artificial powder. My suggestion is, for your healh, don't have it too often.

Bubble tea is REALLY good. I reccomend it. Even though it has TONS of calories and it isn't REALLY good for you. Yummy to have occasionally though.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! I cried when I saw the picture of the St. John Street intersection. We lived in the 20th block of St. John's in 1969 and Regina will forever be very, very dear to my heart. God bless you.
