Haunted Regina - Bart's on Broad

Bart's on Broad was a bar and nightclub in the downtown area, and has since closed. However, when Bart's was open, it was rumoured to have been haunted. The main bar and archway inside of Bart's is over 100 years old and came from Butte, Montana. It is rumoured to be haunted by the spirit of Kid Letowsky, a man who was killed by Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid in Butte, Montana. The bar itself is from Butte; the bullet hole that was used to kill Letowsky is still in the bar.

Haunted Regina - The Assiniboia Club

1925 Victoria Avenue is home to the Assiniboia Club; as well as Crave, a wine bar . The Assiniboia Club is Regina's premier private social club. Years ago, the Assiniboia Club was a private gentlemen’s club and women were prohibited from entering. It is rumoured that back in the day's of "men only", a local prostitute was murdered in the club and is said to haunt the building to this day.

Greenhouse Pumpkins

Nepenthes at the Greenhouse

Such an odd looking plant at the Greenhouse. It is called Nepenthes, commonly know as Pitcher plant or Monkey cups. It is a carnivorous plant native to South East Asia. For more information click here.

Bird of Paradise

I went to the city greenhouse today and took some pictures. The Bird of Paradise is one of my favorites.

Deer at Ipsco Park

Cute little deer out at Ipsco Park. They have deer, moose and buffalo out there. As well as a family play area and swimming pool during the summer months.

After Work Drinks

Bonzzini's pub on south Albert. Great place for tuesday night wings and beer.

Connaught Library

Connaught Library on 13th and Elphinstone. This is a designated hertiage building which was built in 1930.

Darke Mausoleum

This is the Darke Family Mausoleum. I believe that it is the only family mausoleum in the city.

Tea at Government House

This afternoon I attended tea at Government House. This is a picture of one of the volunteers, dressed in period costume, bringing around the dessert cart after we had our tea sandwiches. Clock outside the Hotel Saskatchewan

This clock sits outside of the Hotel Saskatchewan on Victoria Ave. The Hotel Sask is Regina's most posh hotel and where royalty and celebs stay when in town.

Reflections of the Legislature

Another view of the Legislature in Wascana Park. This one looks quite neat with the reflection of the building in the lake.

Street Sign in China Town

Regina has a small China Town area. The street signs are quite cool, I really like that they are red.

Arch-Diocese Saints

An outside shot of the Arch-Diocese building on College Ave. Saints Matthew, Mark, Luke & John. Does anybody know why St. Mark is represented by a lion; St. Luke an ox; and St. John an eagle? (Click on the photo to enlarge).

Two Headed Goose

I love the reflection of the goose in the water. Also, it is very relaxing and peaceful watching the geese swim on the lake.

Mini Boating on Wascana Lake

It was such a warm and sunny day this Thanksgiving that I went out to the park and saw a man operating some remote controlled mini boats at the lake. Here is a little tug boat. Looks like fun.

The construction on a new hotel is almost complete. This is one of three construction projects in the same city block on Broad Street.
